Spring will spring

 Hi all,

Hard to believe we are heading into spring already.

So, what's new? I've a few books coming out of their respective anthologies and those will be available as standalones. An Offer From the Duke is up but I am adding some new scenes. Usually, there is a word count limit for anthologies so sometimes I don't get to add all that I want for the first issue. Stayed tuned.

Also, Wicked Affairs, Book Eight, titled Wicked Flames will be the next anthology contribution to be listed as a standalone. I'm not sure if I will add more scenes to this story. It was less than 25,000 words to begin with and I'd need to add a huge volume of words to bring into a full novel. We'll see. Probably depends on my available time.

I'm also finishing up the last two books in the Infamous Forrester's series, involving twins Nicolas and Oliver Forrester. Books still unnamed but I'm getting close to finishing these.

Thanks for hanging with me, friends and readers!

Springtime is here

Hello friends,

Here we are - great weather, flowers and happiness! I like spring but not like I enjoy fall.

So, what's new?

I've got two anthologies in the works in addition to my regular works (sigh). Both of these are Christmas anthologies and will likely be available October/November. Don't have the specific release day yet, but I'll post as soon as I know.

I have a lot of details on my first story since I'm only about five-thousand words from finishing. I'm calling this an enemies to lover's story, even though the real enemies are Henrietta's now deceased husband and the duke of Crossmere. Crossmere and Henreitta have a lot in common, but their entire 'romance' is distorted by Cross's hatred and the awful weather in the winter of 1816. Can the two find love under the mistletoe? Hope you'll enjoy Six Mistletoe Scandals that I'll be sharing with five other authors.

My other story is still in development so I can't give you much detail. This will be a novella, probably around 20,000 words, so I'll have a lot of 'action' packed into a short story!

Here's the cover for one of the releases.

Happy New Year

Well, here we are, friends and readers. Another year under the belt. Another batch of wonderful romance novels to read. More days to do the things you love and be with the people who mean the most to you.

For me, 2024 will be the time to get serious about writing again. I've been through almost two years of upheaval: a move, changes in my job, a sick mother, a cancelled writing project. Yikes! While I haven't stopped writing and don't intend to, I've definitely been derailed. I want to get back to my three books a year pace, which was a pretty good clip. A few novels and maybe an anthology will satisfy me!

Another goal is to wrap up a couple of my series, including the final Wicked Affairs book, the final Birds of Paradise book and I've been playing with the idea of writing a companion novel to my Imogene series, about her three brothers.

Alas, many books are started by few are completed.

The most current project is my next novella for a Christmas anthology due next year for publication. Since I have group responsibilities here, it will be the first thing I finish.

I'm ready for the new year!!!!

Giving Thanks

Wow! I am dizzy with the speed of this year's passing! You?

Well, what's new? I already told you that an anthology I was to be part of was cancelled. But, good news, I am part of a new one for Christmas 2024, probably available sometime in Sept/Oct of next year. That's just the fun of being part of a group project!

This will be a Regency setting - my story is set in the winter of 1816, during one of the worst weather events of the 19th Century. But honestly, isn't that one of the best tropes in romance writing, forced proximity? Bad weather, especially snow, can make for some romantic, sexy times!! Add Christmas and a few mistletoe kisses... What can I say, it will be hot. I know you expect no less.

So, Thanksgiving is coming up. I will have a week off as family will be visiting and my sister has all kinds of things planned. Come December, I am traveling by train to the coast for a few days in the sun. I know these next few weeks will fly by.

MANY THANKS to all of you who've purchased my books and even better read them and left reviews. It means so much!

Greetings and updates

Sometimes I am just shocked by how much time passes between blog posts. Even commitments to post "once a week" get lost in the shuffle.

So, what am I working on:

Book 4, Infamous Forresters, about brother Oliver and the mysterious Lavina. I still don't have a name for this work.

Book 5, Infamous Forresters, titled Miss Sinclair Dares It All, about Virginia Sinclair and brother Nicolas. Oliver and Nicolas are twins, so I am lightly coordinating their stories. Not as easy as I thought it might be.

A new book titled The Thomas Browne Affair as part of the Love and Other Curiosities Boxed Set due out late next year. This has been a fun story to write and is currently getting all my time.

Missing Muse

Hello friends and readers,

Springtime is here again! While the days are bright and the weather perfect, I am finding very little motivation to write. Just spent the week with family doing Spring Break things that involved more sand than I really care for... :) But I do like the water, so I bore it cheerfully.

So, what's up with writing? I mentioned a few months ago I finished a new book for a publisher's series, which has some very specific characters and themes. I submitted it to that publisher at the end of January - and I've been depressed about it ever since. If I don't hear at the end of eight weeks, I'm going to do some rewrites on it. It will fit nicely into my Wicked Affairs series, but I do have to change a couple of characters.

I have my Wicked Affairs title ready, which I will tell you if/when I hear in the negative on my submission. Gah, I remember why I don't like to send my work off. Just the time it takes, the waiting, the doubts - and then if they say yes - a whole lot more waiting for a publishing date, etc.

Also, I've started a new Regency. I'm about 6,000 words in, but I'm thinking about changing my character traits. What I thought would be my hero's personality would be more interesting for a woman. Perhaps a bit tougher to write though... We'll see.

An Inadvisable Wager Release Date!

I'm still on track for 4, count'em FOUR, releases this year. All historical romances - heat level may vary.

You may already know but the next book in The Curse of the Weatherby Ball will be released on February 23rd! This book is titled An Inadvisable Wager. (And I do apologize, I goofed on my cover/story order. I had the cover for Book 2 done first, but I finished Book 3 first. Hope it's not too distracting!!!)

Here's the updated blurb. It happens once in a while, but rarely, do I change a protagonist's name during the writing process but I did for this one. Hero was going to be Graham, but I renamed him Gabriel (he is rather angelic in the end. LOL)

Nora Blasington is cursed, born to the notorious George Blasington, renowned thief and traitor. Avenging her father is her lot in life and she is determined to prove that three ton gentlemen illegitimately benefited from his death, stealing her father’s properties. Properties that rightfully belonged to her brother, the 4th Earl of Wargrove.

Only the Wicked Three are dead and can no longer reveal their secrets. No bother! She will wreak vengeance on the sons of those wicked ones since they have what she wants: Henbury Hall, the Cornish tin mines and the Henbury stallions.

The Weatherby Ball may be cursed, but Nora ably catches the eye of Gabriel Sutter, Earl of Carlow, the current owner of Henbury Hall. Just the man she needs. He unwittingly falls into her trap.

What she doesn’t know is that Gabriel is quite taken with the mysterious and oddly dramatic masked beauty. Though, he might have been more cautious had he known Nora Blasington was hiding behind the mask. Oh hell, he had to marry at some point. It might as well be tonight, and it might as well be to the woman who’d just tried to blackmail him.

I'm very hopeful that this book makes a few lists. Please help me make that happen!!!

I'm working on the next book - another in the Infamous Forrester's series. I'm usually right on top of titles but this one has eluded me. Right now it is just called "Roman" - the hero's name.

Coming Soon! An Inadvisable Wager

I just typed THE END last night on my newest Regency romance. This is the third book in The Curse of the Weatherby Ball series. Off to my editor!

I made a mistake in this series. I had the cover finished for this book very early on, but then I ended up finishing Book Three (Not Your Average Earl) before Book Two. Ooopsy!

So here's the blurb:

Nora Blasington’s curse is that she was born to the notorious George Blasington, renowned thief and traitor. Avenging her father is her lot in life and she is determined to prove that three ton gentlemen illegitimately benefited, stealing her father’s properties. Properties that rightfully belonged to her brother, the 4th earl of Wargrove.

Only they are dead and can no longer reveal their secrets. No bother! She will wreak vengeance on the sons of the Wicked Three since they have what she wants: Henbury Hall, the Cornish tin mines and the Henbury stallions.

At the Weatherby Ball she catches the eye of the Earl of Carlow, the current owner of Henbury Hall. He willingly falls into her trap. Nora thinks the ball curse has worked in her favor.

What she doesn’t know is that Graham Sutter is quite taken with the mysterious and oddly dramatic beauty.

Though he might have been more cautious if he’d known Nora Blasington was hiding behind the mask. Oh hell, he had to marry at some point. It might as well be tonight, and it might as well be to the woman who’d just tried to blackmail him.

I love this cover. Another great one by Dar Albert.

Wicked Siren FREE

The other day I was bemoaning the fact my very first book had been selling a little better than usual, and thinking, oh, no, not my FIRST book! I've written so many better books! So, in order to help you decide which book to read, I'm offering Wicked Siren, Book Six in the Wicked Affairs series, for FREE. This series of books are standalone but with reoccurring characters, so you'll get to know all of them as they pop in and out of ballrooms and parks.

Not only is this one of my favorite books in this series, it is a reader favorite too! Viviana Love is full of passion and vitality, attracting men of all stripes, but it is staid Baron Alex Preston who becomes her anchor. See the BLURB below.

Let me know what you think - AND IF YOU READ, please leave a review. I need them. :)

I don't know if it is free at all retail sites yet but it will be soon.

An unconventional woman. An inconvenient marriage. An unconditional love.

Famed diva Viviana Love will do what it takes to survive in London. Seduce titled men. Give up her child in order that he might have a better life. Hide her past so that she might have a future.

And when she makes the mistake of a lifetime a second time, she does the unthinkable and agrees to marry Baron Alexander Preston—the staid and proper country gentleman who believes life in the country is all a man needs.

Alex is confounded by the wild creature he is to escort to London. Miss Love is an indiscreet harridan who believes she can seduce him. And she succeeds royally. When she presents him with the opportunity for his heir, he does what no sane man would. He marries Viviana and finds his life turned upside down.

Alex has never felt more alive. Their nights are filled with passion, their days with conflict. When Viviana realizes she might lose her proper gentleman, the truth is the only thing that can save her.

Did I tell you about...

Some of you know I have a 'thing' for David Gandy, one of the world's most famous male supermodels. He is my favorite celebrity and has been for several years. Even Sam Heughan can't beat him. Like everyone else, one of the first interactions with David was the famous white trunks photo from 2006, an ad campaign for Dolce and Gabbana's Light Blue fragrance. After seeing that and asking who the bloke was, I hunted him down.

Later, David was doing a charity auction on Ebay and one of the items to bid on was a dinner with him, which I won. Well, I can only say that after that meal, I was completely hooked. He was so genuine and now he can do no wrong in my eyes! He's no longer on the runway but he still has a lot of campaigns, business ventures and other projects that interest me, and I keep following!

So, at some point after 2012, I had it in my mind to write a story about a supermodel. PEAK and PINNACLE are the result of that lingering idea. The model in my story Peak is not David or any depiction of him other than as a model - it was just a fun arc to build a hero around. The good news is that my stories are about TWINS - twice the hotness!

This is my photo of David from our meal together. Yes! It's very clear why I'd want to 'model' a hero after this man!

Hopefully, you've had a chance to read Peak! Don't forget to pre-order Pinnacle, as it is on sale for .99 cents until release day! And don't forget to leave a comment to be eligible for the giveaway of an Everest North Face hoodie

A writer's favorite day! Yes, a new release is out today. Check out this cover.

A disturbing letter from India. A child not his own. Leo Bennett is bound to accept the child, as she is legally his. He didn't believe in love at first sight, but Celeste has become his reason for living. And the governess has become a thorn in his side.

Rose Stewart has an unnatural attachment to the child. And she has a valise full of secrets. Like being the duke of Murton's estranged granddaughter. It's not as if she lies, she just omits telling the truth.

New Releases

Hi everybody! Once again I have been slacking on blog posts, but I do have good news for you. I've been very busy on the writing front. 2016 was a downer year what with all the goings on at my last publisher. I've got all my books back and republished, except for my Romantic Suspense series at Amazon.

So what's going on:

A Sleight of Hand is out and available at all retailers. This is Book 3.2 of The Body of Knowledge series. It is a novella and the second part of Eadan MacMurrough's love story. In the novella, The Trouble With Scots, we learned that Eadan's visions of Gellie Cabot have propelled him into a dream world where he lives in a place between death and life.

For all anyone knows, Gellie doesn't really exist.

Except Gellie Cabot was there that night. She was at the inn where Eadan was first stricken.

In A Sleight of Hand, Gellie is summoned to Dunbar Castle to use her gift to heal the dying earl. She's afraid of her gift because she cannot control it and she knows she might kill him.

Next will be A Mistress To Remember, Book Three in the Birds of Paradise series. I love this one, not only because of the beautiful Russian heroine, trying to establish herself and her sons within the ton, but also because she is a curious and warm lover to the Earl of Compton, a newly widowed man searching for comfort. The wicked Marquess of Dane is back for a couple of scenes. He is married to the earl's sister, Christina. I think you are going to like this one.

This cover is another one by Dar Albert. I absolutely love it. She just catches my vision when I describe the cover I want. And then does it ten times better.

It is currently in edits, so it should be a month or so until release day.

And I'm wrapping up A Wife Is Forever. I'm not sure this is the title I'm going with. This is Book Three in the Infamous Forresters. This plot is interesting. No spoilers yet.

Can one night with a rake be enough for a lifetime?
Miss Bella Lacey desires to accomplish two things before settling into an unfulfilling marriage to the man her father has chosen. When Derrick, Lord Eaglestone, a wealthy viscount with a scandalous reputation, agrees to donate to Miss Lacey’s charity, he has only seduction in mind. Little does he suspect that Miss Lacey has already chosen him to debauch her before she weds another. The lady has virtually fallen into his lap, but much to his annoyance, he finds himself reluctant to oblige her.

Camille Johnston knows that eventually the secrets of her past will come to haunt, yet she hopes to keep things hidden as long as possible and enjoy her lonely but peaceful existence in Silver City.  The new deputy brings with him desires she'd thought firmly shut away.  A relationship of any kind comes with very dangerous consequences.

A story of Lucas and Camille, who attempt to leave a past behind only to find true happiness, comes when they face it.

WHAT HE WANTS by LYNNE CONNOLLY

Forced to choose, should she risk everything she’s worked so hard for and trust a man she hardly knows —or sink back into her lackluster life?
Upon unexpectedly inheriting the Earldom of Carbrooke, Gerald Dersingham fears his carefree days are behind him—until a sensuous widow inquires after his former residence. Unable to resist the temptation to have one last liaison before settling down with the lovely but boring Lady Elizabeth, he offers her one night of passion in return for the lease, little knowing how explosive and far reaching the consequences will be....

Though mortified that Brenton unmasked her at the scandalous ball, Lillian doesn’t regret their night together. But will the object of her girlish adoration still treat her as his best friend’s little sister, or will he now see her as a mature and willing woman?

Release Day: The Frenchman's Widow

It's the new year and I forgot to make a list of resolutions. So let me make one now: I resolve to continue writing novels.

And... Here is the next one.

The Frenchman's Widow is book three in the Imogene Farrell series. I love this girl. She's a true changeling, masquerading as a boy and trying to stay alive in Victorian London. When her brothers are on the run from the law, she hides with Mary Fitzpatrick, an old friend of her deceased mother.

There, Imogene learns some of the ways of lady and what she doesn't know, she can mimic. Her old foes are still looking for her and when she is at her most desperate, Jack Davenport, sweeps into her life to rescue her. In exchange, she agrees to be his mistress.

It is no hardship for Imogene. She has loved him for the first moment they met.

But when Jack marries, he and Imogene separate. Imogene can't be the other woman in Jack's life and she can't trust the man Jack calls his friend - Geoffrey Shiffington. Without her brothers, Imogene isn't safe in London so escapes to Paris where fortune is more kind.

The Frenchman's Widow picks up five years later, when Imogene returns to London to attend her brother Charlie's graduation from King's College seminary. Unbeknown to her, Jack has helped Charlie with his education and his acceptance at King's. Jack also provided a suitable job for Danny at one his farms in Deal.

Jack really has been a god-send to the Farrells. Only Jack is still married. Time hasn't dulled Imogene's feelings for him. Accepting that Jack will never be hers, she sets about building a life for herself, her family and the tide of children who find their way to Imogene's door.

I should mention Dar Albert - she designed these series covers for me. And I JUST LOVE THIS ONE. It is so Imogene - showing her determination.

I hope you enjoy this novel. The final book, Lady Prescott's Confidential Matter, will be out next month, which you can pre-order now.

Let me introduce you to the Forresters

Hi everyone! I am finishing up the second book in the Infamous Forresters' series. I introduced you to Adam in the novella All A Mistress Wants. The rest of the family wasn't clear to me when I was writing that story but in the second book, about the third son named Joshua, the family is coming into clear focus.

The second son, Roman, is the heir to Sterling and Adam's confidant. Roman is a bit of a mystery to his family. He is a gambler but he is so much more.

Joshua is a traveler and an introvert. He loves his books, his maps, his history. And he has a great weakness when it comes to women in trouble. He can't save everyone but he does try. I haven't titled this book yet. It currently has the original title of "Joshua's story."

Nicolas, the fourth son, is off on an adventure in Hudson Bay, Canada. He is a sportsman and a hunter. On a return trip to London he becomes involved with a metis - an American Indian/French woman with an unquenchable spirit.

And then there is Oliver. The youngest son. A military man. Assigned to the HMS Victorious, Oliver's adventures leave him clinging to life, one wild adventure at a time.

The Forresters also have a married sister. I haven't made any decisions to write her story but she will be around.

The next story will be out in March 2016 in the Seven Nights of Sin Anthology. Like this page so you can keep up all the latest for this release.

Wicked Affairs, Book Seven - Readers' choice

Decisions, decisions.

I'm toying with book seven in the Wicked Affairs series. I've got three stories I'm working on and want your opinion on the book you most want to read. The titles are all tentative so don't read anything into them AND the stories aren't under contract yet either (so a contract will win out, no matter how things go here). So here they are:

Option One:
Wicked Shades
Audrina and Gray Paquin find themselves in a problematic marriage. Gray is the consummate gentleman but his wife needs a very strong hand. Audrina is the sister to Clarissa (Wicked Desires) and Juliana (Wicked Indiscretions).

Option Two:
Wicked Scandal
Emberline Booth (we met her briefly at Glen Arbor, Edward Chase's home in Wicked Lord) is a long time acquaintance of Trenton James (we met him in Wicked Siren, one of Viviana Love's backstage admirers), one of the ton scoundrels, who has suddenly set his gaze upon widow Emberline. She'd rejected Trenton once and he'd punished her in return - causing great harm to both families. What is she to do know that she really needs him?

Option Three:
Wicked Jade
Viscount Robert North (brother of Emberline Booth) is tempted by a married woman. (I know who this is, but to tell you would give away an upcoming storyline).

Leave a comment for the story you'd most like to read... And please bear with me on which ever story it ends up being.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts.

Imogene Farrell - Book cover reveal

I've got a new series coming up, something near and dear to my heart, mostly because I love the tough, foul-mouthed orphan Imogene Farrell.

I'm showing the covers here but jump over to the series page and you can also see the blurbs for each book.

I have the lovely Dar Albert to thank. It wasn't easy to find a cover model that would work for all four covers, but she got close.  I absolutely love the Book Three cover for the Frenchman's widow - it is so absolutely perfect for that book. Right now, I'm targeting November 1st as the release date for book one!

Wicked Affairs, Book Six: Wicked Siren Cover Reveal

Have I said this before? I love release day.

Wicked Siren, the story of Alex Preston and opera singer Viviana Love, is the sixth (can you believe it?) story in the Wicked Affairs series and will release on July 10th!

If you read Wicked Lord (#3) you probably saw the writing on the wall… Alex and Viv were destined to be together. They are true opposites – he a country gentleman and she a vivacious opera singer who thrives in London.

As a character, Viv was a fun one to write. She’s not like the other women of the Wicked Affairs series. She has scraped and fought for what she has but, seeing the twilight of her singing career, Viv must make some hard decisions.

For a Regency historical reference, the opera singer Angelica Catalani from Italy had an unrivaled career in the opera for seven years. Her singing range was nearly three octaves. While I didn’t write Viviana with the same sort of star power, she does have moments of fame.

And true hero that he is, Alex is the only man who can accept Viv as she is and recognize the torment that has haunted her past.

And you are the first to see the awesome new cover. What do you think? It is a great addition to the Wicked Affairs covers.

Blurb:

All books in the series are stand alone but introduction of characters are best understood by reading the books in order.

Books One - Three are on sale at all the usual retail outlets.
